Cold pressing is when the oilseeds are pressed without any heating which ensures that the physiological and chemical properties of the extracted oil and meal, including natural taste, are preserved.
Conditioning of seeds is a process which softens the oil cells assist in denaturing the proteins and inactivation of most of the enzymes. An optimum temperature and moisture is critical to ensure a proper and efficient pressing with the desired quality of color and aroma in the oils and meal
Several factors determine the success of this process, including equipment design, process selection, conditioning procedure, and quality of the feedstock.
Temperature, moisture, and residence time are also critical to the output of the process.
There are two types of conditioners – vertical stack conditioners and horizontal rotary conditioners and United is proud to offer both types.
